Match DTF 12-Inch Dual Side Matte PET Film to the printer’s maximum physical media width and your roll holder’s clearance. Check the powdering and curing path as well. An A3 or 12-inch printer label alone does not prove the feed accepts this roll or prints edge to edge. Core bore, packed dimensions, thickness and certified performance are not confirmed here; request current batch information if these are purchasing requirements.

Understand dual-side matte and the print face
Dual-side matte is a surface description, not a statement that both sides are printable. Identify the ink-receiving coated face before loading. Surface finish and peel grade are different properties: neither a matte appearance nor the appearance of the reverse establishes hot, warm or cold release.
When moving to DTF 12-Inch Dual Side Matte PET Film from another grade, run a small representative transfer first. Compare clean text, solid coverage, release behaviour and the finished surface rather than relying on how the unused film looks. Keep the batch identity and instructions with the opened roll so operators do not confuse it with single-side matte stock.

Set up clean, straight feeding
Support the roll so it turns without sideways drag. Square the leading edge, protect the edges from creases and keep the film clear of rubbing brackets. In a printer-and-shaker line, check the transition between machines so tension does not distort the wet image. Avoid pulling film manually while printing. Converted printers require a suitable continuous-feed arrangement; a roll placed behind a sheet-fed machine is not sufficient.

Set the physical media width in the RIP and keep artwork inside the machine’s usable print area. Leave gaps for powder removal, cutting and handling when nesting several designs. The 100-metre supply is media length, not guaranteed saleable output: loading, calibration, margins and sample transfers also consume film.
Confirmed baking and garment-press settings
Our store confirms the following working procedure for DTF 12-Inch Dual Side Matte PET Film. Baking prepares the adhesive on the printed transfer; pressing bonds the design onto the garment. These are separate stages.
| Baking / adhesive curing | 160°C for 15 seconds |
|---|---|
| Garment heat press | 160°C for 15 seconds |
| Pressure | Heavy pressure |
| Release | Hot / hybrid peel, following batch timing instructions |
| Finishing press | Second press recommended for good washability; ask our team for duration and cover-sheet guidance. |
Test with your actual ink, adhesive powder and intended fabric. Check equipment temperature rather than relying only on a display. Conveyor exposure depends on heated-zone length and belt speed; 15 seconds does not describe a universal conveyor setting. Resolve conflicting powder-curing instructions before production. Do not carry these settings over to unrelated decorative or UV DTF media.
From artwork to the garment
- Prepare mirrored artwork with the correct media width, margins and tested colour/white-layer settings in the DTF RIP.
- Load the coated face correctly and inspect a small test containing solid areas, fine text and unprinted spaces.
- Apply compatible hot-melt powder to the wet design and remove loose material from unprinted areas.
- Bake the adhesive using the confirmed procedure for the film, powder and equipment.
- Position the transfer on the garment, press with the stated time and pressure, then peel at the correct stage.
- Complete the recommended finishing press and inspect the result before continuing customer work.

Inspect transfer quality and troubleshoot
Evaluate DTF 12-Inch Dual Side Matte PET Film on the finished garment. Check lettering, open areas, edge adhesion and release consistency. Washing and stretch depend on the fabric, ink, powder and press procedure. Test your actual combination before making promises to your customer; no universal wash-cycle count or all-fabric guarantee is claimed.
| What you notice | First checks |
|---|---|
| Ink pools or detail spreads | Correct print face, contamination and RIP ink loading. |
| Film skews or creases | Holder alignment, guide clearance, damaged edges and unwind drag. |
| Adhesive specks outside the design | Loose-powder removal, moisture and static before baking. |
| Release is uneven or edges lift | Adhesive curing, even pressure and correct peel timing. |
Storage and repeat-job records
Keep unused film protected in its packaging, away from dust, moisture, direct heat and edge damage. Handle the edges and label opened rolls with the grade and batch. Obtain shelf life and storage limits from supplied batch information rather than assuming them from a similar supplier product.

Retain a finished sample with the ink, powder, RIP profile and press procedure used. Compare one variable at a time if results change. This helps distinguish a feed problem from an ink-loading, adhesive-curing or release problem.
Supplies and help choosing the right media
Pair the roll with compatible INKBANK DTF ink and DTF adhesive powder. Use compatible cleaner for appropriate printer maintenance, not as a film treatment. To match DTF 12-Inch Dual Side Matte PET Film to your setup, send your machine model, feed arrangement and garment application to DTFShop support.
